Fluência ou Precisão: qual habilidade é mais importante?
Ser capaz de se comunicar em uma conversa é tão importante quanto ter bons conhecimentos de gramática. Existem duas habilidades que podemos focar quando estamos aprendendo um novo idioma – Fluência (Fluency) ou Precisão (Accuracy). A Fluência te permite comunicar na velocidade normal, sem muita hesitação. Precisão é dizer as coisas corretamente, usando a estrutura gramatical correta. Ambas são igualmente importantes quando você está conversando, mas são difíceis de praticar ao mesmo tempo.
Então, na próxima vez que você estiver conversando, tente focar apenas em uma dessas habilidades – por exemplo, Fluência. Fale rápido e tente passar a mensagem sem se preocupar muito com a gramática. Em outra oportunidade, tente focar a gramática em detrimento à fluência. Fale devagar, prestando atenção nas estruturas gramaticais e se corrija a cada erro cometido. Essa alternância no foco da comunicação fará com que você melhore as duas habilidades com o tempo.

I also think that the idea of Brazil represented in the movies is exaggerated. I have been to Brazil this year and hopefully nothing has happened to me. But during my time there our guide was warning us about the danger all the time. When I told my parents that I was going to visit Brazil they were really worried due to the fact that one guy on national TV said some terrible things about Brazil…He was telling the same story that you refer to…I don’t know if that is really true. I loved Brazil and enjoyed any moment spent there…Speaking frankly I saw a gun shooting but this happens everywhere. My friend from Rio said that it’s something usual. He says that at least twice a week he sleeps hearing the noise of gun shots. I guess it depends from the place. In some areas it can be as safe as any other place in Europe but in big cities like Rio and Sao Paulo the level of crime is much higher.
So, basically I think that Brazil needs to put some attention on crime watch but this by no means means that it is hell and that tourists should not come to visit your wonderful country…
