Well, I think that definitely both fluency and accuracy are important. I took FCE exam on last december and I fornunately have passed.
But it was not so easy, I couldn’t hardly finish all the papers on time. I was very concerned about my skills on fluency and accuracy.
Practicing is the only way to be good at something.
The more you practice the more you learn!

Esse texto é um outro que recebi por email “Fluency vs. Accuracy” colocou com clareza o que é ser fluente em uma língua.

Mas gostaria de aproveitar a oportunidade e perguntar o que é ser :

Básico (em uma língua)
Intermediário (em uma língua)
Avançado (em uma língua)

Um post comentando e explicando em mais detalhes essas diferencas seria legal.

Gb8, being able to speak a language does not necessarily mean the person is able to talk about grammar. Different people may have very different abilities. Some learn just by listening to songs or interviews, watching movies, whereas others may need hard study of the structure of a language. Don’t be hard on those who can’t answer you a question on grammar. After all, it’s usually difficult to do so. Food for thought: do you think anyone who speaks Portuguese fluently (a native speaker, for example) is able to answer a question on the grammar of this language? But you’re lucky because you can count on this blog to help you, can’t you? Good luck!

Here where I work, some people have fluency, on other hand they are not so good in grammar (I see a colleague of mine here speaking English on the phone very well, but when I ask something bout grammar, he usually doesn’t know answer me.) Now it are clearing in my mind.

Hi,
I study in a good English school, but I need more practise my fluency because, actually, I only know read and write well in English.
“Fluency” I dont have much …. I think a lot to talk.
So I’m intending to start a course of Fluency, this course promises to improve my fluency in eight classes.
What do you think that …

Se vcs tiverem alguma dica para me ensinar como “pensar em ingles” eu adoraria……….tenho grandes dificuldades, leio bem e interpreto razoavelmente.

I also think that the idea of Brazil represented in the movies is exaggerated. I have been to Brazil this year and hopefully nothing has happened to me. But during my time there our guide was warning us about the danger all the time. When I told my parents that I was going to visit Brazil they were really worried due to the fact that one guy on national TV said some terrible things about Brazil…He was telling the same story that you refer to…I don’t know if that is really true. I loved Brazil and enjoyed any moment spent there…Speaking frankly I saw a gun shooting but this happens everywhere. My friend from Rio said that it’s something usual. He says that at least twice a week he sleeps hearing the noise of gun shots. I guess it depends from the place. In some areas it can be as safe as any other place in Europe but in big cities like Rio and Sao Paulo the level of crime is much higher.
So, basically I think that Brazil needs to put some attention on crime watch but this by no means means that it is hell and that tourists should not come to visit your wonderful country…
