Hi there! O inglês Britânico está cada vez mais na moda (fashionable), por conta disso hoje vamos aprender algumas termos muito comuns na terra da Família Real.
1. Fancy: Estar a fim de alguém ou alguma coisa
Ex: Do you fancy going with us? (Tá a fim de ir com a gente?)
2. Fancy yourself: Se achar o máximo, o melhor
Ex: She fancies herself. (Ela se acha o máximo.)
3. Bit: Parte, pedaço, um pouco.
Ex: I think you should do your bit. (Eu acho que você deveria fazer sua parte.)
4. Go out with sb: Namorar alguém
Ex: She’s going out with my friend. (Ela está namorando meu amigo.)
5. Finish with sb: Terminar o namoro
Ex: Did he finish with her? (Ele terminou o namoro com ela?)
6. All right, …? (Usado informalmente no lugar de “how are you?”)
Ex: All right, Alizee? (Tudo bem, Alizee?)
7. Ring (up): Telefonar, ligar
Ex: Try to ring me more often. (Tente me ligar mais vezes.)
8. Queue: Fila
Ex: I was in the queue for two hours. (Fiquei na fila durante duas horas.)
9. Toilet: Banheiro
Ex: Where is the toilet? (Onde é o banheiro?)
10. Mean: Pão duro
Ex: He was so mean. (Ele era tão pão duro.)
11. Fetch: Ir buscar
Ex: He has to fetch his wife from the airport. (Ele tem que buscar a esposa dele no aeroporto.)
12. Brilliant: Excellente, maravilhoso
Ex: The concert was brilliant. (O show musical foi maravilhoso.)
13. CV: Currículum vitae
Ex: I’ve got my CV with me. (Eu estou com meu curriculum.)

“Pão duro”:Someone who doesn´t like spending money,never gives any money to people.It´s the same as “stingy.”
An American once said that “Penny pincher” is also used in USA.

Mate…these tips are totally usefull here in Australia! When I arrived here I’ d suffered a lot for a while because the British English… moreover because the Aussie accent! I’ve heard from other brazilians the same, considering Brazil is completelly influenced by American English…I wish I could learn a bit of British English before coming to Australia! LOL … By the way, the latest Mc Donalds advertising about a new aussie sandwich is: “Angus beef (a special tipe of meat)…A LITTLE BIT FANCY”…or something like that! Cheers!!!
