Olá Pessoal, nossas treze frases de hoje voltam com expressões indispensáveis para uma boa fluência verbal. Tem um pouco de tudo, sempre visando preencher aquelas lacunas que incomodam tanto na hora de falar o inglês. Confiram:
1. Flamenguista, Corintiano, etc: Flamengo fan, Corinthians fan, etc.
Ex: He´s a Vasco fan. (Ele é Vascaíno.)
2. Virar o jogo: Turn the game around
Ex: They turned the game around in the second half. (Eles viraram o jogo no segundo tempo.)
3. Ir por água abaixo: Go down the plughole.
Ex: Everything went down the plughole. (Foi tudo por água abaixo.)
4. Dar trabalho: Be a lot of work.
Ex: Being a mother is a lot of work. (Ser mãe dá trabalho.)
5. Deixar na mão (recusar a ajudar): Turn sb away
Ex: They never turned us away. (Eles nunca nos deixaram na mão.)
6. De luto: In mourning
Ex: He was in mourning. (Ele estava de luto.)
7. Dos outros, alheio: Other people´s
Ex: Don´t use other people´s things. (Não use as coisas dos outros.)
8. Atrapalhar: Get in the way
Ex: It was getting in the way of me enjoying life. (Isto estava me atrapalhando a aproveitar a vida.)
Ex: The noise got in the way of him writing it. (O barulho atrapalhou ele escrever.)
9. Chegar (Chega de comer, falar,etc.): That´s enough eating, talking, etc.
Ex: That´s enought drinking! (Chega de beber!)
10. Ser melhor, seria melhor: Had better
Ex: You´d better go now. (É melhor você ir agora.)
Ex: I´ll bring it next week. You´d better!. (Vou trazer semana que vem. É melhor mesmo, acho bom!.)
11. Deixar no chinelo (ser muito melhor): Put sb/sth to shame
Ex: His team put ours to shame. (O time dele deixou o nosso no chinelo.)
Ex: She puts us to shame. (Ela nos deixa no chinelo.)
12. Altas horas(tarde da note): The small hours
Ex: We talked until the small hours. (Nós conversamos até altas horas.)
13. No limite: At (my, your, etc) limit
Ex: I was at my limit. (Eu estava no meu limite.)

Good tips! these are simple things but they are very useful, and its not that easy to find these expressions (even in a dictionary).

“put someone in the shade” e “wee hours”.
