A leitora Lílian enviou hoje uma sugestão de tópico bem atual e interessante para praticar o listening. Trata-se de um vídeo da entrevista na íntegra com a secretária de Estado dos EUA, Hillary Clinton. O vídeo está com dublagem, mas eu tenho uma dica, se você configurar o áudio do computador para passar só o som do lado esquerdo você ouvirá apenas a faixa em inglês.
Eu gosto de ouvir políticos falando em inglês, é muito bom para praticar e relativamente fácil de entender, já que eles usam poucas gírias e falam de forma muito clara.

Vistos
Questionada sobre a dificuldade dos brasileiros em conseguir visto para os EUA, ela admitiu a dificuldade que há pelo fato de só haver a Embaixada e três consulados americanos no país (em Rio, São Paulo e Recife). Ela disse que, em conjunto com a Embaixada, vai trabalhar para tornar a concessão de vistos mais fácil.
Educação
Hillary também disse que quer ampliar os intercâmbios estudantis entre EUA e Brasil e que quer ver “milhares de estudantes americanos indo para o Brasil e milhares de estudantes brasileiros indo para os EUA”. Ela disse que teve encontros com empresários para viabilizar isso.

Needless to say I’ll be highly recommending that my students check this interview out. It sure does prove a powerful tool for any EFL learner to brush up on their listening skills. Now, as far as Hillary’s English is concerned, she’s speaks so crystal-clear; what’s more, having she apparently addressed the topics with a distinct mannerism, she did create a friendly atmosphere throughout the whole interview, which contains a wealth of historical detail.
Now, speaking of “historical”, congratulations on your outstanding blog! Make no mistake were it not for its whole bunch of extremely useful English tips, many EFL students out there who seek for both innovative and creative ways to study English would be doomed to boredom for lack of motivation by now. Generally speaking, boredom is so grave a problem when it comes to learning a foreign language such as English for example (believe me, I speak from direct experience; when I cast my mind back to the days I first started to pick up some English, nothing but coursebooks were my only companions); however, thanks to blogs like yours, either students or ELT professionals can have a gleam of hope!

I like listen many thinks in English, because help me undestand better the English. I listen very the sbbc site. This interview is very nice, because hillary talk of a way of easy understanding. I like this video
Very nice interview. Besides hearing her talking about the American point of view of many issues we also can listen a native American talking nice, clear and slowly. it`s good to traine our English.
The only thing I didn`t like in this interview and I think many people will agree with me, is that Why we treat her as we were the Lord and we are the subject(Súdito). She is just a person who representes the United States and help the U.S to take decision around the world. As Vagner Moraes asked her “What could we do to make our contry a better place to our children, to the our children`s sons…” Hey….this is OUR contry, this is our place, why would we ask a forgein what to do here in our contry to make it better to live. We know what we need to do to make this happen. She is the person who will say what we have to do to live better, she is a woman, a very simpatic woman and a very inteligent woman who came here to talk to us make things better between Brazil and U.S not who will give advice in who we need to live be happier.
We know and everybody knows what we gotta do to make our contry a better place and even the greatest contry in the world but we don`t do it. We sit and wait that it happens in front of our eyes without doing anything. It won`t happen.
Aqui está horrivel entender com a tradução simultanea em portugues ao fundo. Dificulta para nós que temos dificuldades.Deverisa ser com legenda.

Alberto, your first sentence is “I saw a movie on TV (or on DVD)”, the second is “I saw a movie at the movie theater (or, in British English, at the cinema)”, and the third is “I’m watching TV (or television)”. Have a nice stay in Portugal.
The first two sentences could begin with “I’ve seen”, depending on the situation.
