Curso de Inglês para Tímidos: Lição 20

All right, let’s get a little controversial here today.

I just saw on the news that a 17-year-old girl had been beaten up by her 21-year-old husband and was in a coma.

My question is, why does this still happen and what could be a feasible solution to this problem? Are women to blame? Are men to blame? Should there be stricter laws against it?

We want to hear your position on the violence against women topic.

Aguardo as respostas em inglês nos comentários. Good Luck!

I think that in Brazil we have already laws to cover that situation. The problem is that the women have fear of denounce their own husband.
There should be more effective programs that protect them and make them more confortable to go and speak with authorities.

in my opinion, the woman has a responsability too, because there are women a lot that don’t speak out against the partner or delay do it when this kind of situation happen

Without education and love, the humanity will walk adrift.
Although We have laws to advise and to penalize, We don’t till discovery the way of peace.

I Think that the man for to beat in women is a rubbish. Education and to punish maybe is the better situation in this case. But this problem is more bigger in the poor country than in best ecomically. Therefore, education and social iguality maybe are solution.

I think to solve this problem, the penalty imposed must be very severe. And live, for all to see, As in the past, in the public square.
So the performer would think many times before making such things.
