Texto sobre Formatura (Graduation)

Graduation is a very remarkable moment in our lives, be it by the satisfaction felt by the parents who struggled to give their children a good education, the personal fulfillment of the graduate, the feeling of “oh, I finally got rid of it”, or even for the transition that graduation itself represents: the end of academic and the start of our professional life.

Long years of achievements, failures, sleepless nights before the tests, new friends, stories to be remembered forever!

American graduation ceremonies seem to be really traditional and almost “mandatory”, given their presence in so many movies and TV series. I don’t think this tradition is so strong in Brazil – I remember that when I was graduating the university only offered a very simple ceremony, with no special dressing and only for students and teachers – no family and guests at all! The “complete” party had to be paid for, and many colleagues did not join because they could not afford it.

Although there are some cultural differences, I believe most of the items listed above are common in the Brazilian, American and everywhere else graduation ceremonies.

    Hey guys. Congratulations for your blog, it has been pretty useful to me. My english is not so bad but I’ve been learning a lot here. I’d like giving the other readers an advice.
    -Try to read books like Percy Jackson’s series or even Harry Potter ’cause they have an easy vocabulary.
    -Try to read english web sites about movies, books, comic-books.
    -Give us some comments here (in english of course) it’ll help you too.

    My graduation ceremony was a bit different from yours, Flavia. I was fortunate enough to be allowed (like all my classmates) to invite my parents to the ceremony. And I was very happy to have them there, since I was their only child to (my three sisters didn’t) graduate from university.

    No matter how difficult it is to finish university, the graduation ceremony should be enjoyed, for a very new life is supposed to begin after that.

    Procurei dentre seus artigos e não encontrei um especial sobre palavras ligadas à informática.
