Text: What can I say about Mexico? It’s an amazing place, we have every single ecosystem in the world, we have oil, full natural resources, water, beautiful tourist places, natural wonders, a rich History… however we have one big and ominous drawback: we’re too close to the USA. So that’s basically it, the country moves to please the USA government, that’s us: USA backyard.
But still, one of these days we’re gonna be able to free ourselves from that influence and then… and then Mexico will be a great first world nation but even cooler because we have nice weather! (if Mr. bush doesn’t destroy the world before).
¡VIVA MEXICO!
By the way, it’s spelled Mexico with an x… Not Mejico.
Hi folks, take a look at this amazing place. It is worth a visit for sure.
The word Iguaçú means “big water” in the tupi-guarani etymology. The Iguaçú river, which forms the Falls eighteen km before the river meets the Paraná river, overcomes a ground unevenness and plunges 65m with a width of 2,780m. Its geological formation dates back to approximately 150 million years.
The Iguaçú River is 1,200 wide upstream from the Falls and downstream it narrows down to a 65m channel. The total width of the Fall in the Brazilian territory is around 800m and 1,900m on the Argentinean side. Depending on the river flow, the number of waterfalls ranges from 150 to 300 and the height of said waterfalls ranges from 40 to 82m, accounting for a 2,700m semicircular shape. The average water flow of the river is around 1,500m3, ranging from 500m3/s during the draught season to 6,500m3/s during the flood season.
The individual waterfalls may range from 20 to 300 depending on the water volume. The large waterfalls are 19, three of them on the Brazilian side (Floriano, Deodoro and Benjamin Constant) while the remaining ones are on the Argentinean side. The position of the waterfalls, most of them on the Argentinean side and facing Brazil, provide a better view to those admiring the scenery from the Brazilian side.
After taking a wide turn and the rapids, the bulk of the falls plunges laterally into the deep erosion gorge, the Devil’s Gorge. This 85m high waterfall is the one most appreciated by tourists; its shape resembles a horseshoe.

“On the blink” is applied, for example, to an appliance operating intermittently, especially one “on its last legs”, i.e. one that is about to “give up the ghost”.
“On the blink” doesn’t refer to a permanent failure. If something is on the blink, it means that it is operating erratically, that it may work fine for a bit and then not work at all, that it is somewhat temperamental, and that this behaviour is intermittent. A printer on the blink, for example, may print 20 documents perfectly and then completely screw up the next one (which, by some strange law of nature, will be the one that you really needed most), but then work fine again the next day.Once something fails completely, it ceases to be “on the blink”. It then becomes: in a state of disrepair, non-functional, broken, not working, bust, knackered, etc.
On one’s last legs: near the end of life, usefulness, or existence
To give up the ghost: (of a machine) to stop working

Welcome: Welcome
This morning I woke up from a short nights sleep and I watch a documentary called, “INSIDE THE PENTAGON”, after seeing this, I realize how proud I am to be an American. There are so many American men and women, who put their “lives on the line” for our name sake everyday. This is the most giving country and the place were you can come to make your dreams come true. The beauty of my country is the people that make this the country what it is…a land of the free and the home of the brave!
See you!
From now on, I will present a different country each week. If you want to see your country portrayed here, post a comment on Tell us about your country. When you access it, you will be able to read an example. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Today we’re going to meet Guatemala. I don’t know very much about this country but my friend Karin showed me that Guatemala is worth a visit for sure.
Name: Karin
Country: Guatemala
Job: Graphic Designer
Welcome: Bienvenido(a) (in Spanish)My country is very beautiful. It’s known as the “Everlasting Spring Country”. We call it like that because the weather is very nice. Never too hot, never too cold. Trees are always green and flowers are always blooming.
There are tree things I like about Guatemala. One of them (probably the one I like the most) is its beautiful nature: rivers, lakes, mountains, volcanoes, jungles…
The second one is its history. We were the homeland of the Great Maya Civilization. So, we’ve got beautiful Maya sites. Then we were conquered by Spaniards. So, we’ve got beautiful Colonial cities. And now, we are a modern country, with a beautiful (and modern) city.
The third and final is our people and culture. Our people are Maya descendants… unique in the world.
So, Guatemala is unique… and those who love it call it “Guatelinda”. =D
