Hi there!

The other day one of my students asked me how to say 'crespo' in English as in 'cabelo crespo'..

Well I was doing little reseach a coulpe of minutes ago and I'm still not satisfied with the answers I got on the net..

A small list of what I've got:

wiry hair

frizzy hair

thick hair

so...what do you say mates?

This comes as a suggestion. Afro hair as in "He has curly afro hair".

vejo mto curly hair, além de encaracolado, creio que possa significar crespo tbm, em um sentido geral a cabelos não lisos.

Wiry-describes hair that is strong, thick and rough to touch
Frizzy-very curly and not smooth or shiny
Thick- seria uma coisa densa, nao macia, meio aspera

O dicionario da cambridge não define thick para hair, sendo que os outros tirei de la.

In general, we would call the hair in the pictures in the google search curly, kinky, nappy, a tight curl.

THE FIVE HAIR TYPES:

Type 1 - Straight Hair

Type 2 - Wavy Hair

Type 3 - Curly Hair

Type 4 - Kinky Hair

Type 5 - Nappy Hair

"There are five basic types and each type is denoted by a number... It is ...hierarchical in terms of degree of curl and curl behavior. In other words, the lower the number the less curly your hair."

In some regions of America, you might hear it this way: "Nappy Hair", it may sound funny for most of English speakers, but if you look up for "nappy hair" on google images you'll confirm what i've said.

é mesmo... as fotos do nappy hair não deixam duvida! Igualzinho ao meu!!!! Quando eu estava no Texas minha host sister usou Thick para meu cabelo,mas era no sentido de ter cabelo demais e ele ser todo juntinho... Anyway, gostei demais das possiblidades que tenho para definir meu cabelo!
