Hello there,

I'd like to say "De repente", but I'm not sure what use to. I have seen all of a sudden and
suddenly. I looked up in a dictionary but yet I'm kinda confused.

Could someone help me out when using each one?

"All of a sudden" e "suddenly" se equivalem no sentido de "de repente". Veja exemplos de uso:

a. All of a sudden the lights went out. [De repente, as luzes se apagaram.]
b. Suddenly the eagle opened its wings. [De repente, a águia abriu as asas.]

There´s an old similar idiom "on the spur of the moment" but I don´t know if it´s very used nowadays, meaning impulsively, without prior preparation:

He decided to join a tour to England on the spur of the moment.
This expression alludes to the goading action of a spur to a horse. [Late 1700s]

Pessoal, eu estava assistindo a uma série e alguém disse "Out of the blue", o equivalente seria "do nada" acredito eu, eu quero saber se também poderia ser traduzido como "de repente", eu não sei se o sentido é muito parecido, o que vocês dizem?

Foi mal, Dlr. Eu pensei que tinha lido todas as anteriores, mas deixei a sua passar. Nem sabia que já tinha algo com o que eu tava pensando. A série era "The Big Bang Theory".
