Português: Maquiar-se
Inglês: To make sb up, to wear/ put on make-up
Exemplos: - They made my face up to look for the meeting with the President.
- They made him up as an old man for the last act of the play.
- "The moment I wake up, before I put on my make up, I say a little pray for you..." (from the movie My best friend's wedding)

Do not use the verb make up when you are talking about putting coloured substances on your own face. Say that you wear make-up or put on make-up (Longman)

I like very much the expression "to put on one's face".
I can't leave now. I still have to put on my face!
Another expression is "to put on one's warpaint". (warpaint = the paint North American Indians put on their face before battle).
Shirley will be ready in a minute. She's still putting on her warpaint.
