Tenho algumas expressões que não sei dizer:
São elas:
"Me desculpe, eu estou atrasado porque meu carro nao (pegou/ligou) de manhã e eu peguei um onibus."
"Me desculpe, eu estava ocupado e esqueci do seu aniversario mas eu prometo levar vc pra jantar fora hoje a noite"
"Me desculpe, eu estou muito cansado hoje, podemos deixar para um outro dia?"

Note: "..my car wouldn't start" and "I couldn't start" are both common.
In this context, either "a" or "the" is acceptable and common.
