Como é que se fala "Retocar a maquigem, etc" em inglês?:Touch up

She was busy touching up her make-up in the mirror.(Oxford)
Ela estava ocupada retocando a maquigem no banheiro.

It has always been perfectly acceptable for a woman to powder her nose and touch up her lipstick at the table when the meal is over.(uk.answers.yahoo.com)

o mesmo phrasal verb touch up também pode significar retocar, ou "fazer os ajustes finais"(to make the final improvements)

Changing the subject slightly...

Gentlemen may go to the bathroom, but ladies go to the powder room.

I'm not sure what gentlemen do there, but ladies powder their noses.

So, if a lady tells, "I need to powder my nose," you can expect her to disappear for a while.

Seriously, this is a polite way for a lady to say she needs to use the restroom.

The term "powder room" is also used in japanese (化粧室) to denote "restroom" - in portuguese: sanitário or toalete.
