How can I say ' Hoje em dia, quem conhece um segundo idioma, se destaca' in English?

PS: I've heard ' stand out' but don't know if it's proper or not...

I think it could be "Nowadays who knows a second language stands out"

Nowadays: Hoje em dia
Stands out: Se destaca ( na terceira pessoa)
