Não, nesse caso, "a lot" não combina."A lot" pode ser usado depois de verbos ou antes de comparativos.Veja alguns exemplos:

We are overlooking the cultural context. When and under what circumstances are we saying in English "Seja muito feliz"? At a wedding, for example, it would sound strange to tell the bride or groom "Be happy." It is far more likely to hear:

I wish you all the happiness in the world.
I wish you much happiness.
May you always be as happy together as you are right now.
Etc.
