Olá Pessoal, sou novo aqui no fórum e se tiver infringindo alguma regra, não deixem de me corrigir.

Bem, trouxe algumas dúvidas de inglês tiradas de algumas provas de concurso (sem gabarito oficial).
Se alguém puder me indicar qual o erro e explicar o motivo da escolha correta, desde já agradeço as feras!

Identify the one underlined word or phrase that is incorrect:

Frase 1: I waited all morning for the answer which never comes.

Frase 2: This, if the news are true, is a very serious matter.

Frase 3: I often heard it said that she was not sure of how well does he speak english.

1)never came.(fica melhor "came"....mas na linguagem falada não há erro nenhum nesta frase...that´s life!)

2)news is.(nesse caso,"news" pede o verbo no singular.)

3)I often heard that she was not sure of how well he speaks/spoke english.

Agradecido pela resposta.

Porém, na questão 3 você fez duas correções: it said e does he speak english
No primeiro caso eu realmente não entendi o porque desse it said, porém no segundo o uso do ''does'' está correto pelo fato de querer dar enfase a habilidade de ele falar bem inglês. Então... qual seria o correto erro?

Na minha opinião o uso do "does" nesse caso fica muito estranho,mesmo levando-se em conta a possibilidade de ênfase.Olha como ficaria:

"I often heard that she was not sure of how well he actually spoke english."

Peter does want to come this summer. It's just that he can't get off work.

As an excellent student the first thought that comes into your mind is; wait a minute, that first sentence is a positive sentence. Does want can't be correct. It should be; Peter wants to come this summer. Of course, according to what you have learned you are correct. However, in certain instances you can use both the auxiliary and principal verb together to form a positive sentence. We allow this exception to add extra emphasis. In other words:

Peter really wants to come this summer.''

Seguindo essa linha de raciocínio, não poderiamos reescrever a frase 3 da seguinte forma?

''I have often heard it said that she was not sure of how well he really speak english'' assim o uso do ''does'' pode ser substituído por really dando uma ênfase extra. Correto?!

Não, a meu ver não está certo.

O verbo ‘do’ como ênfase em afirmações deve ser usado imediatamente antes do verbo e não antes do pronome. Do jeito que está a frase supõe-se que quem escreveu confundiu a estrutura afirmativa com interrogativa.
