Expressão: How much people
I was watching a movie and I got the following sentence:
"I am absolutely appalled of how much people in this country do not think."
It wasn't supposed to be "how many people" ???
Thank you in advance

HI Tiago
If you hadn't given any context, I would say: Yes, it was supposed to be "how many".
But, considering that a person is appalled of the great quantity of people who don't think (there isn't an exact number), the use of "how much" is more appropriate.

Olá Tiago,
Um complemento:
"How much" está se referindo a "think",quem fala está "pasmo com o tanto que as pessoas no país não pensam."
:"How much" pode modificar verbos "You know how much I love you".(Você sabe o quanto eu te amo.)
Boa sorte!

Humm, interessante.

"I am absolutely appalled of how much people in this country do not think."
vem das seguintes
I don't think much about that (não penso muito sobre isso) ou
I don't think much of that (não penso muito do valor disso)
A expressão original nem precisa de "how much" para significar a mesma coisa:
"I am absolutely appalled at how people in this country do not think."
"I am absolutely appalled at how many people in this country do not think much."
