Is there any difference between "for good" and "forever"? Are they always interchangeable? Or it depends of the context?

1)Veja:

"For good" pode ser sinônimo de "forever" quando traduzimos para o português.Mas "for good" se encaixa em contextos relacionados a "permanentemente","definitivamente" onde "forever" pode ficar meio fora de "lugar".Veja:

a)He left his job for good.(Ele largou o trabalho definitivamente.)>>Não vai voltar mais.
b)They´ve broken up,and this time it´s for good.(Eles terminaram,e desta vez é definitivo.)
