Some pronoums can't be ommited in English. My suggestion:
"I don't go to the movies because my wife doesn't like it so much and I think it is very expensive here where I live, so, I prefer watching dvd's at (my) home!"
*"my" is not needed here.

And I have to agree that movie tickets are very expensive indeed!
