Hello friends!!!

I have a small doubt about this subject, because a student asked me if he could use the sentence "I don't study more there" or if the sentence "I don't study there anymore" would be more appropriate, I told him that the second would be better, but I didn't know how to explain why!

Is there any explanation about it?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hello Ricardo,

Yes,there´s an explanation. You must use "anymore" at the end of negative sentences in order to say "mais".Have a look at the examples:

A)I don´t study there anymore.(Eu não estudo lá mais.)

b)We can´t do that anymore.(Não podemos mais fazer isso.)

c)She´s not here anymore.(Ela não está mais aqui.)

*It´s not correct to say "I don´t study more there".Try and use "anymore" at the end of a sentence.

Good luck! ;)
