basicamente é isso.

Eu sei que another se usa antes de um substantivo no singular e other antes de um no plural,mas e nesse caso?
Estou perguntando pois um colega meu(conversamos com frenquencia em ingles) me disse uma vez essa frase citada e usou o ''other'',na hr eu pensei:Mas está no singular,não deveria usar o ''another''.Mas e ai? Qual o certo?

I think that must be used in the following way because exist: other/others/another

Other- It's used in the singular and often comes before articles.
Others- It's used for avoid repetitions in the sentence.
Another - It's used when we need to show for someone other thing in the sentence.

Examples:
- The other winner is Tomas, but the other was better than him.
-These boys like to play tennis the others prefer play football.
- My cell phone is broken, I need to buy another.

What is the better? The other is better!

So I conclude the correct way to say is " other ".

"The another is better" não faz sentido.

Another = um outro / uma outra (artigo indefinido)

the other = o outro / a outra (artigo definido)

"Another" é simplesmente a forma conjunta de "an other". Devido às duas vogais, que se unem no falar, ficou regra unir as duas palavras.

Qual seria a diferença de uso entre "any other" e "another"?

Exemplo:
I cannot go to this meeting this evening because I have class until 9:00 p.m. But please, let me know if there is any other/another day when I can go.

qual eu uso? e a diferença entre eles?

* Another - outro
