"I have never been to California"

bem, esta aqui no livro, este é o The present perfect tense II, quando se usa "since", "for", "ever" entre have e o verbo no participio passado.

Preciso saber a real tradução desses tipos de frase.

Por exemplo a frase de cima...
(um cérebro iniciante lê assim: Eu tenho nunca estado na California)´

É claro que a frase é: Eu nunca estive na California...

a pergunta é, porque tem que ter o HAVE?

Não poderia ser...
I never was ?

Sei la, isso esta confundindo minha cabeça.

Pra que serve o PARTICIPIO PASSADO?
aquele que fica na enorme lista em todos os finais dos livros de ingles...

o participio passado só serve com have/has?
I have been
She has seen
They have fallen...

etc
etc
etc

É isso...

Ps: passado de Eat é ate? O.o

Well.. fisrt of all, you don't have a especific translation for it.
But, when I learned it, my teacher said that the most students translate it like: eu tenho estado, eu tenho feito
But my teacher explained that is not correct translate it like this

I just know that, when we use present perfect, is something that you did in the past and this thing still influence you in the present. You still do it.
I work there. Eu trabalho la
I'm working there. Eu ESTOU trabalhando la. ( you're working there, the same time that you are talking, in this time)
I have been working there. Eu trabalho la. ( here, you can use since or for )
I've been working there SINCE last year. or I've been working there FOR 5 years.

I still have some doubts about Present Perfect, so I can't explain to you 100 percent why can't be never was.

Gente, preciso de ajuda no present perfect de novo!

bem, olha só...

tudo que eu sei é,
o present perfect é quando uma ação do passado ainda continua acontecendo no presente.
sim sim até aí, otimo!

Por exemplo:
He has been here.~

As vezes falam que é "Ele está aqui" e as vezes falam "Ele esteve aqui".
Como sei a diferença?

No exemplo deles está assim: My wife has worked here since May (A minha esposa trabalha aqui desde maio)
Como pode has worked ser "trabalha"??? não seria trabalhou? trabalhava?

Esta meio confuso em saber quando fica presente e quando fica passado...

Enfim, estou tendando organizar as ideias,

Quando tem "since" e "Just" vira presente?
He has just arrived. - Ele acaba de chegar.
I have lived in Santa Cruz since I was born. - Moro em Santa Cruz desde que nasci.


Então seria que quando não tem tempo, fica passado?
The boy has broken a window. (quebrou)

Suponhamos que tenha um tempo na frase a cima:
The boy has broken a window everyday. Então só assim ficaria no presente?
Bem, se eu estiver certa...
