Eu gostaria de saber quando eu devo utilizar a partícula "to" e "at" após o verbo "throw" quando a minha idéia for dizer "jogar para". Alguém poderia me esclarecer isso?

to throw to = you want the other person to catch what you throw, no harm is intended
to throw at = you want to hit the other person with what you throw, harm may be intended

I throw a pillow at GIanc, hitting him in the head. He laughs and throws it at me.
