Asleep is "(já) dormindo) "The baby is asleep."
Drowsiness is often associated with being groggy and unable to think clearly, for example, more often than not because of ilness, tiredness, some medicine you have taken.

I don´t know what others will think of that one, but to me "falling asleep" is something like "caindo no sono/começando a dormir." It´s (to me) a bit of right now I feel I am going to Morpheu´s arms, as happens in a hospital bed right after an anaesthesia shot.

Fall asleep (=begin to sleep):
She was so tired she fell asleep sitting in her chair
And if a child is tired, it will fall asleep right away instead of thinking "Shouldn't I hold out a bit longer and get this done?

Other ways to say you "está com sono", but it´s not going to dreamland in a minute or less, could possibly be:
-I am becoming sleepy.
-I am tired and sleepy.
-I am beat, I think I can use some sleep/bed (or I am going to bed.)
And others.

Tentativas:
"My sleep wore thin/off"
"Where did my sleep go?"
Aguarde outras sugestões.

Hey!
> ''I feel into a deep slumber''
Examples from my dictionary:
''We could hear the breathing of someone in a deep slumber.''
''I don’t want to wake him from his slumbers.''
> ''I feel into a deep slumber''

Estudante, você quis dizer "I fell..." em vez de "I feel..." não quis?
