Como dizer "Fazer a chamada (da classe)" em inglês
to take attendance
In school, teachers sometimes "take attendance". This means that they write down who's in class and who's missing. They often do this at the beginning of class, before they start teaching.

The options "call the register" and "take attendance" sounded better to me, but I heard other colleagues use "make the roll call". I realize "to call the register" is BE, but would you use "take attendance" in BE as well? Also, what is the preferred form in American English?
Na minha experiência com o American English, "call the roll" é a opção mais comum.
