Como dizer "O horário de verão começou" em inglês

Estava escrevendo um e-mail em inglês para notificar algumas pessoas que mudou o horário de verão aqui no Brasil e esbarrei numa dúvida:

This weekend has started the summer time
Ou
This weekend begun the summer time

Qual seria a forma ideal? Tenho um pouco de dificuldade em assimilar e aprender a usar o "has".

Obrigado!

Sugiro algumas mudanças nas sugestões acima:

"Daylight saving time began this weekend."

"In 2012, daylight saving time began on March 11 and will end on November 4." [Wikipedia - Daylight saving time in the United States]

Para mais dicas sobre o uso de "have"/"has"/"simple past"/"present perfect", sugerimos uma busca.

Bons estudos!
Obrigado, eu dei uma boa pesquisada aqui no fórum e até encontrei alguns links internos sobre o has, mas ainda não consigo compreender a aplicação dele na frase...

Se alguém tiver algum comentário a fazer, ficarei agradecido!

Obrigado pessoal
For North Americans, one would say "Daylight Savings Time (DST)" has begun.NorthAmerica has several time zones. New York is in the Eastern time zone or- "EST" short for "Eastern Standard Time". In the Spring, usually March, the clocks move ("spring" as a verb) forward to "Daylight Time" and in the Autumn (US & Canada- "Fall") the clocks move ("fall" as a verb) back an hour to Standard Time again.

In Britain the summer hour advance is called "British Summer Time (BST)", or, "Summer Time" for short. It can be a little confusing because "summertime" means the Summer months. In the English-speaking Caribbean, there is no seasonal time adjustment.

One of the main uses to the word/auxiliary verb HAVE (has to the third people of plural -he/she/it) is to form the perfect tense. And to what the perfect tense is for? It allows the action continues over time (para falar de algo que continua acontecendo).

Generally, as in your Daylight Saving Time, one can use the "HAVE/HAS" in the perfect tense to talk about things that happened in the last twelve hours or so, that´s why Donay have corrected it. It could be said so, if you was talking about a recent activity.
