"Thanks a bunch" meaning

Thanks a bunch

This is another way to say "Thanks a lot", but it is usually used ironically, so you'd have to rely on context and intonation to be certain.

Thus, this is an expression that should be used carefully by English learners, if they get their intonation wrongly, they could easily be misunderstood. Straightforward phrases like "Thank you very much" also become sarcastic if said in a sarcastic tone, so pay attention to your pronunciation :D .

Used to show you are annoyed when someone has done something you are unhappy about or has failed to help you in some way:
Usada para mostrar que você está irritado quando alguém fez algo que você está descontente com ou deixou de ajudá-lo de alguma forma:

"I told Dad you'd love to wash his car." "Thanks a lot."
"Eu disse a meu pai que você gostaria de lavar o carro." "Muito obrigado."

Thanks a lot for supporting me. (= You did not support me.)
Muito por me apoiar por me apoiar. (= Você não me apoiar.)
