Isto é o que dizem = That is what they say / That is what people say
Assim dizem = So they say
Quando "isso" refere-se a algo que você mencionou, use "this" em vez de "that".

My suggestion:
I've been told that...
Bye!
I've been told that...
Bye!
Eu preferiria usar o sujeito da oração. Assim,
"John Doe told me that..."
onde:

"That's what they all say"
Get to go see ya !

Hi there buddies!
It would depend on the context (what you meant), maybe you don´t mean harm people that told you something.
So, there would be direct ways and indirect ones to say that.
In an direct way, like this: "John told me that there will be a party tonight, who´s coming?"
But then there are the gossip, privy information or that may be not good to someone´s else safety if people know directly the source. And there´s a sort of knee-jerk self-preserving reaction, if you feel you can´t confirm/verify the information.
So, you could say something like:
"A bird told me that Marcio hit the Jackpot."
"A friend told me..."
"Word of the discovery caused a stir among astronomers." (from CALD dictionary)
''Rumor has it that..."
"Word got around that he was on the verge of retirement."

Journalist may also say/write things like these:
Credit Suisse reported that...(The Economist)
The authorities in China...(The Economist)
I read somewhere else that...
- According to a credible source with (inside knowledge of the matter), with links to the University of Creative Writing, said/reported that...
And on and on
