Edward is an artificial man who has scissors instead of hands. He was created by an old inventor who died before of give a pair of real hands to Edward, leaving him unfinished forever.
Many years after, a saleswoman named Peg visits the gothic mansion on the hill where Edward lives alone and she decides to take him to her home. Edward becomes friends with Peg’s son and her husband. The Peg’s neighbors were impressed by Edward’s hair cutting skills and his sculptures on trees. Then he becomes popular and loved by them.
What I like in the film is when he falls in love with Peg’s daughter, Kim, because finally someone can see the true beauty and purity of him. The best part of the movie is when Edward creates an angel ice sculpture and the shavings create an effect of falling snow, which Kim dances under. It’s so beautiful.
However, because of Edward’s innocence, he was always used by townspeople, and these people used to put him in several bad situations, which he was considered guilty. In the end, Edward is feared and cast out by almost everyone around him, except Kim who will love him forever.
