Opção (no contexto):

Chelsea feels deflated after losing the title and can only manage a draw against Newcastle.

Focus on the supporters:
Fans/supporters of Chelsea are distraught/devastated by the loss of the title, after Chelsea being held to a tie (say, 0-0 or 1-1, for example) by Newcastle.

Focus on the team:
It was a sad day for Chelsea, as it lost the title after being tied by Newcastle. (or after tying Newcastle, I think, if Newcastle had made the goal).

There are other ways to say that, let´s wait further comments.

Hello,

Poderíamos usar "Chelsea feels the thud after losing the title and ends in a draw against Newcastle." ?

Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Not a natural way, I am afraid. A thud usually would be a "baque seco/som seco de uma queda". When something heavy falls, or something hollow of sorts (a body, a head), or still something solid that hits (sometimes awkwardly) a softer surface. Or vice-versa.

There is some evidence that the caterpillar feels the thud of the apple hitting the ground, and knows it is time to leave - before animals arrive to eat the fallen fruit.

Jaehyo yelps, drops the camera, feels the thud as the neck strap catches it. “What the hell – what am I meant to photograph now?!

Nephoros feels the thud of the fall and all the air escapes his lungs.

A man standing in a crowded airport collapses to the floor. Sweating and gasping for air, he feels the thud of a jack hammer slamming against his chest.
