I would rather ou I'd rather seguido de um verbo significa o nosso futuro do presente " PREFERIRIA ".
Como na música de Amy Winehouse : I'd rather be at home with Ray , preferiria estar em casa com o Ray.
Permito-me usar uma tradução livre que se encaixa no texto que ficaria assim :
Ele dizem que prefeririam que fosse sem o uso de alguns produtos.
