1. Aim: objetivo, meta, pontaria

Bob's one aim in life is to earn a lot of money
Our main aim is to increase sales in Europe.
Her aim was good and she hit the lion with her first shot.
The gunman took aim (= pointed his weapon) and fired.

2. Target: alvo, objetivo

Doors and windows are an easy target for burglars.
They bombed military and civilian targets.
Set yourself targets that you can reasonably hope to achieve.

3. Goal: objetivo, meta, "gol" (futebol)

Our ultimate goal must be the preservation of the environment.
I have goals in life.
The winning goal was scored by Hill.

4. Purpose: propósito, objetivo

He did it on purpose, knowing it would annoy her.
Our campaign's main purpose is to raise money.
