Sugestão:
Chegar a tempo = To make it (just) in time / To get somewhere (just) in time.
Ex.:
I made it (to the airport) just in time to catch my flight.
I got to the airport just in time to catch my flight.
"Just" é opcional, mas enfatiza a ideia de que você chegou "à justa". Outras traduções de "chegar" são possíveis, como "to arrive", por exemplo.
