Hello!
Shall we take a look on these sentences?

GET HERE = ARRIVE HERE = CHEGAR AQUI

How did you get here? = INFORMAL
How did you arrive here? = FORMAL
(Como você chegou aqui?)

COME HERE = VENHA AQUI

Karen, come here now!
(Karen, venha aqui agora!)

Thanks Ricardo.

Vi em um lugar do qual não me recordo, mas ele dizia que arrive só pode ser usado se precedesse uma preposição, mas não Sei se há veracidade nisso, poderia me responder se isso procede ou não?

Hi Heric.

The verb "to arrive" can be used in both cases, however, when we use a preposition before it, we will just add more information in order to complete the sentence.

Let's check some examples:

He arrived at the mall at 08:00. = He got to the mall at 08:00. = Ele chegou no shopping center às 08:00.
He arrived late in the USA. = He got late to the USA. = Ele chegou tarde nos EUA.
