What’s the meaning of " the call fell throught "?

The phrasal "To fall through" means the same than "Fail".

So in this case "the call failed" / "a ligação falhou" / "a ligação caiu"

Pelo contexto, entendo que a ligação caiu no meio de uma conversa.
Embora eu tenha pesquisado, não encontrei nada relacionado com ligação telefônica. Mas de acordo com o dicionário Cambridge, temos a definição de fall through como: If a plan or agreement falls through, it fails to happen.

"Get through":Conseguir falar com alguém por telefone
==>I can´t get through:Não consigo falar

Quanto a "the call fell through",trata-se de uma expressão não muito familiar e natural para mim.Recomendo o uso de "The call failed".Ou ainda,se acontecer no meio de uma conversa, "I got cut off".
