Hey Vini,
I didn't understand you doubt, specially because I see you know how can use this expression " Kind of ".
I would just change one thing in your second example, I'd add at the end of the sentence " from here "
So we have now the following sentence: Where you live it´s kind of far away from here.
Cheers!

Well fella,
you already answered your doubt, once you'd said :"Mas ouço em muitos dialogos pessoas usando ele no sentido de MEIO".
These constructions you've brought up as examples are correct.
And you can also get something like: "kind of like", "sort of", and some further expressions .
You can get that people call slang, or contractions (I'm not sure of which is the best adjective), e.g.:
"kinda", "kinda like", "sorta"...
Best Regards,
Rubens

What all doubt users should know about a question. Native speakers/mother tongue users of English would no doubt ask a question rather than a doubt.
Viny,
Complementando,
Sim,'kind of'=sort of'=meio,um tanto que,um pouco
It was kind of strange=It was sort of strange=Foi meio estranho
Bons estudos!
