Fill Someone in on Something: Como utilizar

Fill Someone in on Something: Como utilizar
Eu vi no fórum este Phrasal Verb: Fill someone in on something (colocar alguém a par de alguma situação).

Tem um exemplo: My sister filled me in on the latest gossip at school.

Como fixação tentei cria meu próprio exemplo de uso, :) porém nao sei se está correto.

I 'll fill you in on the purchase of their company. Is it right, guys?

"I will fill the boss in on the details of the report" - Inventada
"my friend quickly filled me in on the portion of the movie that I had missed" - Internet
"I've filled him in on the product lines and exhibition cost as well." - Internet
"We've already filled you in on all of the miraculous, multitasking benefits of coconut oil." - Internet

Afora esse sentido, existe o de "substituir (alguém)":

"I will have to fill in for Wally until he gets back. I don't mind filling in." - Internet
"interns filled in for regular staffers" - Internet
"Damn... I found no one to fill in for me on my day off" - Inventada

E mais esse de "preencher" (BrE):

"Please fill in this blank form" - Inventada porém BrE

Certo,
Quando for no sentido de substituir alguém usamos, "for" no lugar de "on"?!
