I just want to add that this idiom is normally used when a negative thing is told.
So, when you have bad news or some criticism on you, you can react without batting an eyelash.

A nice mini-lesson. But the second example surprised me by the use of IN. Because we say SPEND money ON something. Was this sentence said in a colloquial situation, Alessandro? Or was it made up to illustrate the idiom? Thanks in advance for a reply. All the best.

Every time I learn a new word or expression I try to use it in a sentence.
    So:
I noticed that Susan didn”t bat an eye when her husband left their home with the five dogs.

Thank you very much for these tips. I didn´t know these expressions.
My examples; When I told him I couldn´t go the football game, he didn´t bat an eye.
What did he say when her wife told him that she is going to the theater with some
friends? He didn´t bat an eyelid.

We lost the last game, but I didn’t bat an eye… I believe we will win the next one!

    – Posso usar “about this” ou outros complementos após “not bat an eye”?
    p.ex.
I don’t bat an eye about this… I just want to work soon!
