To keep doing lessons the day before they're due is not something good.
He is trying jogging instead of running, so as to avoid straining more ligaments.
He is trying jogging instead of running, thus avoiding straining more ligaments.
She was avoiding looking his way, while he was lifting staring to a new level of boorishness.
My only excuse for writing that way is that Info Society made me do it... (rs)
Construção possível. Acho até mesmo que poderíamos escrever: "By keeping doing your homework (and turning it in) in time spares you the trouble of keeping seeing your teacher making faces at you", ou não poderíamos?
My twopence´s worth (in a slightly different way, but in the same sense):
Getting into the habit of doing (your) homework at the eleventh hour/at the last minute will do you no good.

Hey buddy, don´t beat yourself up for that, your contribution is welcome and you brought up new information to the thread.
In this case there´s no right or wrong, just different ways to say the very same thing.
