Variations...

Necessity is the mother of invention.
Necessity is a motha. (MOTHA, not mother. It is short for an impolite expression, and the meaning is "something difficult, unpleasant, etc.)
(humor)

Early to bed, early to rise, is the curse of the working man.
(humor)

Cheaters never prosper.
Cheaters never win, and winners never cheat.
(Very common variation.)

The early bird gets the worm.
But who wants to eat a worm? (humor - Said in reply to the person to says the proverb.)

So unto others as you would have others do unto you.
Do unto others, and then cut out. (humor - to cut out = to leave)
