Brazilians are Lusitanics. It's an ethnicity similar to Hispanics except that Lusitanics speak Portuguese and not Spanish. Hispanics or Lusitanics can be of any race....White, black, mixed etc.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lusitanics
Hispanic and Latino Americans are Americans with origins in the Hispanic countries of Latin America or in Spain, and in general all persons in the United States who self-identify as Hispanic or Latino.
Now in the U.S census they ask if you're of Latino, Hispanic or Spanish origin....I believe the answer is "NO" because brazilians are not with origins in the Hispanic country of Latin America or in the Spain. Brazilians are with origins in the "Lusitanic" country of Latin America! So the answer is NO!
Then on question number 9 they ask about your race which has nothing to do with your ethnicity. So then you can identify yourself according to your race...White, black, asian, mixed etc...
On day to day life Americans are very stupid when it comes to race...They confuse ethnicity and nationality with race. I'm of European descent..I have bright green eyes, light brown hair, fair skin and americans ask me all the time....Why do you look white?? That question is really dumb! The reason i look white is because i am white! My bloodline is European. They think brazilian is a race or they think brazilians are hispanics, and they think hispanic is a race also.
