Can't help x Can't help but: Qual a diferença

Hello.

Well, I would like to know what's the difference between these 2 sentences...
Do the two sentences mean same, or is there a difference?

EX:
"I can't help falling in love with you"
"I can't help but falling in love with you"

Tem uma diferença sutil.

I can't help falling in love with you. = Não consigo evitar me apaixonar por você. (Eu faço isso sem perceber)

I can't help but fall in love with you. = Não tem outra coisa que eu possa fazer, senão me apaixonar por você. (Não tenho outra opção.)

A opção "I can't help but" não tem ing.
