Please, what's the English for a casa dos pais é a escola dos filhos?
Quando somos crianças, nossos maiores exemplos e as pessoas que vamos nos espelhar para ser, em nossa grande maioria, são nossos pais. Os gestos deles, as ações, palavras e principalmente os valores, são pedaços do nosso caráter formados durante nossa vida. Tem um ditado que diz: “A casa dos pais é a escola dos filhos”. Nada mais apropriado do que isso para ilustrar a coluna dessa semana.

There´s no adage/proverb totally equivalent. But there are some close to it, depending on the context. And there are some "commom sense" thinking, as we see on the Web. Such as:
-The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
-Monkey see, monkey do... (the power of examples around home...if you -as a kid- see your parents cursing, cursing you will. At least nobody can´t complain if you do.)
- [from tender age] Children learn from who is around them/from the people around them.
-The kids look up to you.
-Kids are an extension of their parents (sort of).
-We are what we see.
-Learning doesn´t stop at school, and it begins at home. (most of times!)
-A child's actions are largely reflective of the upbringing from their parents.
and yes, parents are our first teachers (for better or for worse! .)
