A torcida faz toda a diferença sempre empurrando o time.

''And you know how the fans can lift a team [empurrar um time] when they're solidly behind.'' [Google News]
"Fans can lift the team [a torcida pode empurrar o time] and they have lifted Ireland to an incredible position where they are 90 minutes away from qualifying for the World Cup.'' [1.skysports.com]
''Bit of both I think, both have a responsibility and both go hand in hand. The fans lift the team [a torcida empurra o time], the team lift the fans and vice versa.'' [BBC - UK]

Outra opção: cheer on

''Their fans cheered them on from the sidelines.'' [Merriam]

Bons estudos!

Donay aproveitando sua deixa é possível usar "to cheer up"?
Se tiver errado você poderia me corrigir cheer on sempre é usado com o sujeito no meio da sentença ex: cheer (sujeito) on?
"Cheer up" é uma opção.

Tanto fazer "cheer the team on" quanto "cheer on the team.''

''We cheered on the team.'' [Thefreedictionary]
''As fans cheered on the team, the emergency simulation began with initial reports coming into police that a gunman was spotted at the stadium.'' [news.stanford.edu - USA]
''Cheered the team on. [Merriam]

Empurrar o time = Dar força ao time = To support the team

Brazilian fans supported Brasil in every match of the Confederations Cup.

Brazil only won because the Brazilian crowd lively supported the team in the final of the Confederations Cup against Spain.

Fans make all the difference by supporting the team all the time.
