Como posso dizer em inglês que uma pessoa que me inspira e eu a ela, como aprendizado, é o meu "aluno" ou eu sou a "aluna" dela, em suma, somos "alunos da vida" ?
Por exemplo, assisti um vídeo e perguntei à pessoa se ela é minha "aluna" ou eu sou a "aluna" dela, dentro da mensagem que o vídeo transmite ao ouvinte.
Então, como eu poderia dizer alguma coisa assim em inglês?

I would say that you are his fan, that he acts as a surrogate teacher for you/he has served as a surrogate teacher for you/he has been a surrogate teacher for you.
But then I meant that there are other ways to express the same thing, sometimes with other contexts...
Finally, in the situation you described with you could ask "I have been learning from you or have you been learning from me, who has been the surrogate teacher ?" (meaning - who acted as the surrogate teacher).
