In North America, mainly USA, it is not unusual you to see some people carrying guns. This happens because these people are entitled as eligible to carry some handguns. To get it, you have to prove your ability with guns, and after a bureucratic time you can get it for a monthly, yearly (depends on where you are) fee. In some states, it is not allowed carrying concealed guns, so If you intend to get one, make sure it is for your own safety, not to wander around thinking you are the best, okay?

I have never seen anyone carrying a gun except for the police or guards. Private citizens in the towns I have lived in and visitied do not carry guns.

I think I expressed the idea wrongly. ''Not unusual you to see some people carrying guns'' is wrong. I meant ''Not unusual for some americans in some states to have handguns (at home, etc)'' or something like that.
And I also mentioned that it doesn't happen in all over the USA.
