Yep, agree.
I think that from the events it is just like in Brazil. Except that abroad, in the States they make separate events, the graduating party wether it´s an elementary party graduation, a middle school graduation, or a high-school or college graduation.
In Brazil the "aula da saudade" evolves to a party, it´s a festive day in itself, and the audience may be students and invited people.
