Suggestion: whisk
Get all the dry ingredients in a separated bowl and then add the mixture to the other bowl with the wet ingredients and whisk thoroughly until you have a smooth ,but not too running, batter.

Thank you Vinicius, it was a pleasant surprise to me when I looked up (and found) the sentence as it is in the Aulete. I was highly familiarized with "eu bato palmas", so it seemed unusual to me! but then, the way it was is correct, just sounded a bit awkward to me (okay, I admit I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer :lol: ).
Glad to have learned something today! ;)
