Como dizer "chutar alto, por alto" em inglês

anita 14
Hi, guys! I was wondering about "chutar alto" or "por alto", for example:

- How much did you pay for these shoes?
- Try to guess!
- I'll "chutar alto" - $500.00
- No, it was cheaper than that!

or...

- How much did he pay?
- $500.00, "por alto".

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!
Thanks!!!

Anita,

Acredito haver várias possibilidades, minhas sugestões são:

How much did you pay for these shoes?
- Try to guess!
- I'll "chutar alto [take a rough guess]" - $500.00
- No, it was cheaper than that!

- How much did he pay?
- $500.00, at a guess.

Do Cambridge:

"What's the time?" "It's about 5 o'clock, at a guess (= without knowing exactly)."

Do Google:

We can't be certain but I'll take a rough guess [ vou chutar alto]and say the £1200 a night.

Bons estudos!

Donay, what about "take a wild guess". Would that be the same as rough guess?

Anita,

Cost of Taxi/car service from Laguardia to West 85th St (6 years ago)
It'll be in the ballpark of $30.00. They can pay with a credit card.
Simply go outside to the taxi rank. Do not accept rides from touts at the airport.
