Hi,
De acordo com o Oxford Escolar:
conviver: to live together, to live with sb/sth
Eles são incapazes de conviver um com o outro. They’re incapable of living together/living with one another.
convivência: living together
É difícil a convivência com ele. He’s difficult to live with.
***
Achei também "to get on with", mas, particulamente, acho que esse tem mais a ver com "se dar bem com / ter afinidade" e nem sempre nos damos bem com quem convivemos
Idiom: rub elbows with --> conviver com
esse eu achei no Answers.com (e gostei bastante, pois não conhecia!)

Como complemento...
1. Cohabitar, viver junto sem casamento: "to live common-law," "common-law relationship," "common-law spouse," etc.: "We live common-law." "Government agrees to pay benefits to common-law couples."
2. Conviver com uma situação indesejada: "to live with": "I am living with this illness the best I can." "We all live with situations we cannot change."
"To live with" tem outros sentidos tb, como já mencionados, que o contxto demonstraria: "I live with her (we live together)."

The daily (convívio) with native speakers is undoubtedly a very good way to improve one’s language skills.
O convívio diário com… = the daily living with… (?) other option?

I'd use "social rapport". check this out on Google.
Example:
http://socialanxietydisorder.about.com/ ... apport.htm
"Social rapport is the art of building a sense of trust and respect with another person. Although some people are intuitively good at building social rapport, it is a skill that can be developed. When you have rapport with someone, you feel a connection and understanding; a feeling of being on the same page. Having common interests with another person makes it easier to develop rapport, however very different people can also form a bond."
